Question 1

If 3rd February of an ordinary, non-leap year falls on a Tuesday, then what will be the day of week on 12th June of that year?

 A

Friday.

 B

Sunday.

 C

Tuesday.

 D

Saturday.

Soln.
Ans: a

Count the days from months between February 3 and June 12 like this: February days = 28;March days = 31;April days = 30;May days = 31;Add 12 days of June. Subtract 3 days of February. So total days = 129. Since 129 = 18 X 7 + 3, so excess days are 3. So we can count the day to Tuesday + 3 = Friday.

.

Question 2

Rakesh is 50 weeks and 9 days older than me, whereas Venkat is 44 weeks and 9 days older than Rakesh. If Venkat was born on a Wednesday, on which day of the week was I born?

 A

Sunday.

 B

Saturday.

 C

Friday.

 D

Thursday.

Soln.
Ans: a

Venkat is 50 + 44 = 94 weeks and 9 + 9 = 18 days older than me. Weeks are in multiples of 7 days. So we can ignore them. We can deal with the 18 days alone. Since 18 = 2 X 7 + 4, the excess days are 4. So we can count the day to Wednesday + 4 = Sunday.

The last event took place at 03::20 PM - 25 minutes, i.e., at 02::55 PM, which was 6 minutes earlier from now. So the time now is 02::55 PM + 6 mins = 03::01 PM.
